Glenn A. Dennee, 87, passed away peacefully at his Pompey home, with his family by his side, on August 29, 2018.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape Vincent, NY.
Glenn was one of eight children born to Leetah (Luff) Dennee in Cape Vincent, NY on August 31, 1930.
After moving to Syracuse and graduating from Blodgett Vocational School in 1948, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952 at Camp Pendelton. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves in 1956 and continued his enlistment until 1962 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was also employed by Niagara Mohawk until his retirement in 1989 after 35 years.
His favorite past times were wandering the hills of Pompey equipped with his pistol, working in his barn wood shop, and summering at his camp on Lake Ontario where he loved to sail and referee frisbee golf.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gladys, two sons, Gregory (Laurie) of Syracuse and Glenn Geoffrey (Wendy) of Little York, his brother, William of Bridgeport, along with several nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Antoine, John, Arthur and his sisters Rose Litterbrant and Blanche Morich.
Calling hours will be held at the Cleveland Funeral Home at 188 Broadway Cape Vincent, NY on Saturday, September 1, 2018, 2-4 pm with funeral services immediately following with full military honors. Interment will be at St. Vincent of Paul Cemetery in Cape Vincent.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Glenn’s great granddaughter, Elizabeth May Hayes (c/o Nicole Hayes), for her specialized care.
