Virginia A. Wisner

CHAUMONT, N.Y.  —  Virginia Ann Wisner, 81, died Wednesday, July 7, at her home in Chaumont.  

Born Sept. 2, 1928, in Watertown, the daughter of Francis Ross and Madeline Mason Campbell, she graduated from Watertown High School and St. Lawrence University.   

She was a teacher at Cooper Street School.  

She was married to Karl Robert Wisner on Jan. 22, 1952, until his death in 1990.  

They had four children, Laura E. Moore, Chaumont, Anne "Boo" Harris and her husband Michael J. Harris, Chaumont, Mary E. Wisner and K. Robert Wisner, Jr. Sarasota, Florida; also surviving are six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a brother, Francis Campbell and his wife Dorinne; and a sister, Patricia Campbell and her husband, Robert Capone.  

A sister, Mary Campbell Smith, her husband, D. Clark Smith, and a brother, Donald Campbell, all died before her.  

In addition to enjoying her home on Three Mile Point, Ginny Wisner loved to play tennis, read, and travel.  

She was a member of the League of Women Voters and a volunteer with the Flower Memorial Library Book Sale in Watertown.  

Donations may be given in her name to the Lyme Free Library, 12165 NYS Rte 12E, or Ontario Bays Initiative, 12030 NYS Rt 12E, Chaumont, NY 13622.  

Private services will be held at the convenience of her family.
