Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. 

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Santina Basile Hallsworth Priola, 82, peacefully passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, at Mercy Care Center where she was a resident since 2001.  

Santina was born on May 13, 1927 the daughter of Leo Letternio and Mary Agnusini Basile and resided in Watertown all her life.  

She married her first husband Robert G. Hallsworth on June 26, 1948. Within this union they had 11 daughters. Robert passed Feb. 28, 1964. 

A second marriage to Frank A. Priola lasted until May 30, 1977, when he passed. No children came of this union. 

Santina enjoyed working at Giovanni’s Restaurant doing various jobs in the kitchen.  

She enjoyed bowling, going to bingo, she was an avid reader, she liked crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Surviving are seven daughters and six sons-in-law, Katherine Pecori, Watertown, Diana and Pasquale Finn, Cicero, Roberta and Eugene LaVancha, Watertown, Cheryl and Lenny Whitmore, Norwich, England, Francesca and Phillip Sharp, Rochester, Wa., Marjorie and Arthur McManus, and Bridget and Andre Saint-Val, both of Watertown; 19 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Antoinette Priolo; three sisters, Giacinta Basile M.P.F., New Brunswick, N.J., Mary Navarra, Syracuse, and Josephine Basile, Syracuse; two sisters-in-law, Judith Holcomb, and Katherine Hallsworth, and several nieces and nephews.

Four daughters, Jacinta, Mary Bella, Michelle, and Sandra Jean and four brothers, Joseph who died in infancy, followed by Joseph, John, and Anthony (Tony), all died before her.
