Timothy H. Titus, 69, of Point St. Cape Vincent, passed away peacefully at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape Vincent.
Tim was born December 2nd, 1947 in Gowanda, NY to the late Harold and Mary Powell Titus. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from SUNY Potsdam and was an English teacher at Watertown High School for 33 years, retiring in 2003.
A marriage to Mary Lydon ended in divorce.
He married Beverly Yates on June 29th, 1991 at his home in Cape Vincent.
He had a lifelong love of the St Lawrence River that lasted until his death. He had a passion for boating and camping at Canoe Point. He was a 37 year member of the Cape Vincent Volunteer Fire Department serving several years as an officer. He cherished his time with his daughters and grandchildren.
His survivors include His wife Beverly of Cape Vincent, two daughters; Erin and Butch Gould, Cape Vincent, Melinda and Andrew Turcotte, Syracuse; a brother, Art Titus, New Hampshire; a sister, Judy and Jack Switzer, North Carolina; Grandchildren, Jacob, Courtney, and Floyd Gould, all of Cape Vincent, and Emma, Claire, Ethan Turcotte, all of Syracuse, and several nieces and nephews.
A sister-in-law, Margie Titus died before him.
There will be no services per his wishes.
There will be a gathering for all family and friends in Tim's memory at the Cape Vincent Fire Hall on Saturday, May 20th from 11 am to 1 pm.
