Barbara B. Collette, 71, of 43831 Route 12, died Thursday Dec. 9 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

Born Jan. 1, 1939, in Watertown, the daughter of former New York state trooper Gilbert and Mildred Burnash Blackmer, she graduated from Watertown schools.

Mrs. Collette was a telephone operator for N.Y. Telephone in Watertown for many years. She was a member of the Pioneer Club. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very much.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Michael and Libby Lovett, Port Elizabeth, South Africa; a daughter and her husband, Michele and Richard West, Alexandria Bay; a sister, Linda Dobransky; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Melissa Lovett; and a sister, Donna Varga, died before her.

Funeral services will be private.
