CAPE VINCENT, N.Y.  —  Mary Isabel Hastings Burkman, 51, of 190 S. Real St., went to be the Lord, May 21.  

Born Jan. 26, 1961, the daughter of John and Ruth Hastings in Ilion, N.Y., she was raised in Vernon Center, N.Y., but moved to Cape Vincent to raise her family and work for Carlson Wagonlet Travel at Fort Drum and Target in Watertown.  

She was a member of the United Church of Cape Vincent. 

Mary was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend who put both her family and friends before herself. 

Surviving are her children, Amber Englebert, Cape Vincent, and Jamie Englebert, Clayton; a granddaughter, Adalyn, Cape Vincent; her parents, John and Ruth Hastings, Vernon Center, N.Y.; her grandmother, Mary Learned, Malone; her sisters, Robin (Keith) Carter, Florida, Terri (Chris) Salisbury, Rome, N.Y., Jennifer (Robert) Hall, Chittenango, NY, and Kelly (Mark) Willbanks, California; nine nieces; and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her very much.
