WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Born Nov. 12, 1928, in Buffalo, the son of Howard and Viola Mayer, he graduated from Buffalo Technical High School as a draftsman.
He married Dorothy Deyo on June 26, 1948, in Buffalo.
Owen served in the Army in World War II. He retired as vice-president of Sen-Wel Industries in Buffalo in 1987.
He was a life member of the Engineering Society of Buffalo.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed reading the newspaper, taking rides, tending a vegetable garden, and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; a sister, Joan and Harvey Sprowl, Snyder, N.Y., and three daughters, Karen and Ed Ringwald, Watertown, Lynda and Mark Waymouth, Cincinnati, and Tina Kuhaneck, Dundee, Mich.; five grandchildren, Heather Waymouth, Honeoye Falls, Andrew Waymouth, Cincinnati, Rachel Kuhaneck, Toledo, Benjamin and Emily Kuhaneck, Dundee; and his nephews, Christopher Sprowl, Boulder, Colo., and Jonathan Sprowl, Raliegh, N.C. and their families.
The family will gather for a private memorial.
Owen wished for his body to be donated to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
