Annie Johnston A funeral service is tentatively scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Degel-Israel Synagogue, Watertown. WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Annie Johnston, 70, passed away at her husband's side after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan 2, at the Samaritan Keep Home.

Born Sept 14, 1939, in Amsterdam, Holland, a daughter of Pieter and Dora Hessels, she moved to the United States in 1963 living in Newport News, Va., until December 1996.
She wed Robert Johnston of Norfolk, N.Y., in June 1997.
Mrs. Johnston became a citizen of the United States in 1998. She was proud of her American citizenship and loved her native country equally.
She took great pride in living on the farm in Norfolk, feeding the animals and cherished the North Country.
She was an avid reader, loved world politics and was known for her sense of humor.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Robert C. Johnston; a daughter, Monique Aronsohn, and her husband Paul; two sons, Dan and Bob Pearson; a brother, Peter Hessels; grandchildren, Amber, Samuel and Eddie; two daughters-in-law, Stacy Pearson and Maria Pearson; her beloved step children/grandchildren Robin, Marty, Eddie, Christopher, Michelle, Maddie and Rylee, Liam and Benoit.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed dearly.
