CLAYTON, N.Y. —
Born June 9, 1923, in the Bronx, N.Y., the son of Jerome and Julia Haller Daub, he graduated from New York City schools, Columbia University, New York Medical College, becoming Board Certified in OBGYN.
Dr. Daub served in the Army from 1947 to 1949, being honorable discharged as a captain. He later moved to Watertown and went into private practice with Dr. Wendell George and later Dr. James Crossley. Dr. Daub served in his private practice for more than 30 years in Watertown. He was also on the medical staff of House of the Good Samaritan Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Madonna Home, of which he was Medical Director for a term. He also served as medical director for the Community Center for Alcoholism.
He married Jane Matzell on June 20, 1953, in the chapel of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Steven M. Daub, Galway, N.Y.; four daughters, Deborah A. Daub and her husband Donald Sychra, McDonough, Ga., Patricia L. Daub, Watertown, Diane E. Daub, Ocoee, Fla., and Karen J. Daub, Clayton; two granddaughters, Rachel J. Daub-Sychra, Orlando, Fla., and Alison R. Daub-Sychra, McDonough, Ga.
Two sisters, Ruth Daub Conner and Eleanor Daub, died before him.
Memorial donations may be given in his name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington Street, Watertown or Hawn Memorial Library, 220 James St., Clayton, NY, 13624.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
