Marilyn J. Crouse

CHAUMONT, N.Y.  —  Marilyn J. Crouse, 80, died June 17, at her home on Point Peninsula under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.  

She was born January 2, 1931, in Sterling, NY, the daughter of, Ivan and Albertina Becker.  The family moved to Chaumont and she graduated from Lyme Central School District.  Her father owned and operated the Becker Funeral Home in Chaumont for many years.     

Marilyn was married to Clebron Crouse, on February 19, 1948.  The couple lived on Point Peninsula and raised four children on the family farm.  Mr. Crouse died in 1988

Marilyn was a member of the Bay View Club and her passion was the Chaumont Food Pantry.  Along with being a life member of the Chaumont Presbyterian Church, she dedicated elder and trustee, of which she was treasure. 

In her home she enjoyed making cards and doing crafts.  If you met her and visited with her, you appreciated the loving, caring person she was.  She was a dedicated grandma and great grandmother, loving her grandchildren very much. 

Mrs. Crouse is survived by, four children, Neil and his wife Robin Crouse, Highland Mills, Alan and his wife Chris Crouse, Kathy Crouse and Pam and her husband Ken Murray, all of Three Mile Bay; grandchildren, Brandon Murray, Kristy Murray, Andrew Crouse, Lindsey Warnick and Justin Crouse; great grandchildren Gia Keyser, Aidan Hunter, Dylan Warnick and Lauren Crouse; a brother and his wife James and Sharon Becker, Cape Vincent; a sister and her husband Christine and Durg Settles, Owensboro, KY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and numerous dear friends.  

Donations may be made in her memory to the Chaumont Food Pantry or the Chaumont Presbyterian Church. 

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, June 20, at the Chaumont Presbyterian Church, Chaumont.  Calling Hours will be from 3 – 6 Sunday June 19 at the Becker – Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont.  Burial will be held in Dexter Cemetery.
