Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home in Chaumont. The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rachael Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Dexter Cemetery.
DEXTER, N.Y. — June M. Beck, 89, of Star School Road, passed away peacefully on Sept. 8, at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown.
Born June 25, 1921, in Watertown, the daughter of Myron Buchanan and Bertha Gosier Buchanan, she graduated in 1940 from Lyme Central School, Chaumont.
She married Jack Beck on June 9, 1941, in Cape Vincent.
They lived on a farm on the Millens Bay Rd., Chaumont, which they sold in 1965. Jack passed away Oct. 12, 1978.
June was a homemaker who was a member of the Seaway Lanes Bowling League.
She was an avid golfer, a member of the Home Bureau and the Three Mile Bay Grange.
She was a member of Chaumont Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a son, William and his partner, Janice Charles; two daughters, Janice Beck, Penfield, and Peggy Bennett and her husband Bill, Albion; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Archie Buchanan and his wife Barbara.
